Spicy Edamame
This simple party starter only requires five ingredients and can be made in a flash. just add your frozen edamame pods to a pot of boiling water for five minutes. Then drain thoroughly and toss in your favourite seasoning! You could even try adding a splash of hot sauce for cheeky kick!
Spicy Sweet Potato Dips
This simple one bowl treat is another example of quick prep and simple cooking. Simply mix the 3 finely sliced sweet potatoes, 2 tablespoons canola oil, and your favourite seasonings (1tsp garlic powder, 1/4tsp cumin, 1/4tsp black pepper, 1/4tsp salt and dash of hot sauce would be my go to).
Empty the bowl onto a baking tray and bake for 20 minutes then flip and agitate them to brown them evenly before continuing to cook for another 10 minutes. Serve on a bowl with your favourite sauces(I know mine!) and then let the munching commence!
Mushroom Pâté
Mushroom Pâté is the perfect dip to have on the side and can be quite simple to make. Start of by frying off 750g of sliced mushrooms until very soft and all the released liquid has been removed(approximately 20 minutes). Add 2 garlic cloves tbsp thyme and a pinch of salt and cook for another couple of minutes.
Once cooled down transfer to a food processor and blitz into a smooth paste. and serve in a small bowl ready to be dipped away!
Smokey Tofu Dumplings
These perfect dumpling will have your guest munching their hearts away. To make these you need neutral oil, garlic, ginger, scallions, carrots, tofu, soy sauce, smoked paprika and wonton wrappers.
Start by heating up the oil in a pan then add the garlic, grated ginger, chopped scallions, and diced carrots. Fry until it all begins to soften and brown then crumble your tofu into small pieces and add to the frying pan along with your soy sauce and smoked paprika and cook for another couple of minutes.
Finally wrap up the filling in your wanton wrappers and simply fry until golden brown and serve to your hungry guests!
